Might have an idea.... the glow given off by an object is dependant on the size of the object in relation to the scale in its set. eg you have at tennis ball on the screen glowing (bare with me) in front of the camera about a metre away the glow may seem MASSIVE as its the only light... as we have a lot more lights in our images we MAY have to create a BIG tennis ball for it to seem right.... ok.....back to our scene.... possibly try creating a block inside the lamp - BIGGER THAN A CANDLE BUT JUST SMALLER THAN THE lamp (the main holder not the whole post if you get me) then give that a glow.... This is just a guess but it might look better. I'll have a play and report back Monday hopefully!

Also... the lampposts are all exactly the same shadows on the floor. possibly rotate a couple round a little bit for variation and less 'sameyness'. but that can be done later on!
